A beautiful Cyanotype print on cotton fabric embellished with hand embroidery in glittering metallic thread. Cyanotype prints are the original blueprints and it’s one of the oldest forms of photography. In my prints I select and arrange natural objects, in this case feathers, onto specially treated fabric which I then expose to the sunlight on a bright sunny day. I then remove the feathers and rinse the fabric to reveal a cyanotype print. I then work back into my prints with hand embroidery. This piece is also backed with a layer of wool blanket to give a quilted effect.
Each unique piece of art is individually mounted into acid free card mounts complete with backing board, ready to frame. Your mounted artwork is then placed in a cellophane wrapper to protect it and will be sent out carefully wrapped in a padded envelope. This mount measures 25.5 cm x 30.5 cm and the aperture is 17 cm x 22 cm.
I try to use recycled packaging as much as possible but if you’d prefer new just let me know.
